SUP, Lunch and Cruise on the Great Ouse - Hosted by Paddleboarding Events UK

Our trip:

Our Paddleboarding Events UK daycation begins at 9:00am at the tranquil Priory Waterside & Marina, Bedford, where your board, paddle and bouyancy aid will be waiting for you! 

We will paddle downstream from Bedford to Great Barford Bridge (approximately 11km) and head into The Anchor Inn,  Great Barford's beautiful riverside pub for a leisurely lunch. We will also have some time to enjoy the riverside village green and views of the historic 15th century 140metre long Great Barford Bridge and its 17 arches.

We will board the John Bunyan Boat at 2pm to begin our private cruise, taking in the scenery while we meander our way back upstream to the Marina where we will disembark at approximately 5:30pm. The John Bunyan Boat has a fully licensed bar on board for guests to purchase alcoholic or soft drinks during the journey, should they wish to.

Equipment and requirements:

Boards, paddles, quick release waist leashes and bouyancy aids are provided for the paddle. You are welcome to bring your own if you prefer, please let us know your preference when booking. Basic Paddleboarding experience is essential for this trip, you will need to be a competent paddler and feel comfortable paddling 11km, there are three portages on the route. This trip is for over 18’s only.

Good to know:

Part of your booking cost, which is for the John Bunyan Community Boat goes towards the development of a 16 mile (26Km) new waterway park, which will link the River Great Ouse in Bedford to the Grand Union Canal in Milton Keynes.
